From Seeds to Solution
The Cala Vivero, a plant growing nursery operation started from seed you might say with the sole intention of growing plants to be used for landscaping the Cala Azul development. In this perfect arid/tropic climate, water is the only missing ingredient. And so, Cala constructed a rainwater collection system with enormous capacity which has opened the door to an incredible horticultural opportunity, especially since plants thrive with rainwater.
Passion for plants
In only a few short years our passion for plants took this growing operation to excessive inventory, and now the Cala Vivero, one of the largest in southern Nicaragua has opened its doors to sell to the public with more than 100,000 plants available from small to very big sizes.
Being plant enthusiasts, we offer a very wide selection of plants from the easy to grow proven winners for every level of gardener’s success, as well as the uncommon and hard to find species, all for the “fun of plants”.

Cala Azul’s landscaping throughout the development has become its own botanical garden for visitors to see and learn about plants and how they grow.
You are welcome to stop by 7:00 am – 4:00 pm any day of the week. We serve the do-it-yourself plant shopper, and provide landscape design service, installation and automatic drip irrigation systems.
